About Me

It’s a bit of a cliché today to say I entered politics to ‘make a difference’, but that is exactly why I did, to make a difference to people’s lives. I also wanted to play an active role in the community and the town, giving the residents of Bradwell North a voice on Great Yarmouth Borough Council, along with my colleagues Cllr Graham Plant and Cllr Carl Smith who also serve Bradwell North.

I have always had a passion for two things in life; helping people and politics. The two really can work well together. I have served in many positions helping people, such as being an advisor at Citizens Advice for a number of years and the Chair of Governors for a local Primary School, to Parochial Parish Council secretary and a former Member of the Board for Waveney Valley Academy Trust.

In local government, I am the Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Development, where I am responsible for the forming of policies and strategies on areas such as transport, the local economy, strategic planning, and our skills and workforce.

I represent you as a Conservative Councillor because I have always agreed with, and promoted, a conservative set of beliefs and principles such as pragmatism, tradition, rule of law and order, individual rights and finally a sensible view of the economy and other people's money. These are the set principles that I take to Council and I always consider these when making decisions that will effect other people and decide how their money is best spent.

I am happily married with two children, one son and one daughter, and a wonderful cat named Winston.

Moving forward, I hope to meet with you all and to work with you as your Councillor for years to come.
